Urban plaza and buildings painting study

A new study I did while looking out the window from a coffee shop. This started off as just a warm up, but I decided to go further with it. Had a lot of fun with the wonky cartoon style.

Fall tree studies

So was working on my art at the coffee shop today. Decided to take a break and do a study of the scenery from the window. Was fun playing around with different Photoshop brushes need to do more of these while the trees are still colorful.

Old Polish church in Skansen. This was an an open air museum of old houses in Sanok Poland. So this one I have been playing a lot with different brushes in Photoshop.

I find painting trees late at night relaxing. Speed painting, took me about an hour.

This one was a commission for a book series called "The League of Elder" by Ren Garcia. I enjoy challenging myself with  horror themed commissions. The digital painting was done in photoshop.

Embracing imperfect art

So as an artist who works professionally. I must confess that I do still fear doing bad work. It has gotten to the point where I would just be discouraged from drawing and painting in general, of fear that I will "screw up" the current piece I am working on. This has caused me to have a major artists/creativity block keeping me from moving forward and thus making me feel depressed. So I decided to just paint random stuff, not expecting it to be great, and in fact embracing that it will be quite bad! It felt good letting myself off the hook of not having to create great portfolio pieces or commissions all the time. It feels nice to just do what I loved as a kid. Just doing art not caring how it turns out, if something good comes out, great! if not, oh well. I found by doing these few pieces, I have become more bold with my work. Just embrace the "bad" art! :)

Looking back now, as I read the artist's way by: Julia Cameron and follow the practices. I really resonate with the wisdom of this post from 2014!

Attack on Titan the colossal titan Fan Art!

This is the colossal titan from the anime series Attack on Titan. So like the other paintings in my series this one is done in gouache on illustration board. I love traditional.

Sci-fi gun illustration

So the pencils, inks and colors are mine but the gun design is not mine. I really enjoy rendering metallic objects, something about it is just satisfying...

Drawing some cute critters

This was a fun quick sketch I did with pencils in sketch book. At the time I had to hurry to get to work. Then I spent the whole work shift thinking about how I want to get back to this drawing. I really enjoy creature design. Sometimes cute, sometimes scary. When I was a child I wanted to design Pokémon as a job. The idea to create my own creatures where only the imagination is the limit as always been an inspiration.
